Living In Victory

So often believers in Jesus get caught up in this lie that we can't make a difference in this world we live in. In 1 Corinthians 15:55-57 the Bible declares that we already have victory through Christ Jesus. So what is victory? Dictionary.com defines victory as: "1. a success or triumph over an enemy in battle or war"

We have an enemy, the devil, who goes around like a lion seeking those that he can devour. If you ever study lions you will realize that they attack the weak and the young. If we as the children of God walk around with a defeated attitude we become spiritually weak and are more vulnerable to Satan's attacks.

So how do we turn this around?

I believe the answered in Ephesians 6:10-18

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.

The 1st key to Victorious living is realize in who's power you live! (vs 10-11)
"You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world." ~1 John 4:4

The 2nd key is to realize who you are fighting against. (vs. 12)
"Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour." ~1 Peter 5:8

The 3rd key is be prepared! (vs. 13-18)
"Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction." ~2 Timothy 4:2

Finally brothers and sisters: PRAY! PRAY! and PRAY some more!!!! (vs. 18)
"I want men everywhere to lift up holy hands in prayer, without anger or disputing." ~1 Timothy 2:8
